Summer has come to an end. It was definetly an unusual one. June and july were cold and grey, but August and September brought with them sunshiny days of great weather and gentle breezes.
Autumn is now upon us, and we celebrated it's arrival on the day of the equinox.
I made a special centerpiece of vine wrath, candle and pine cones. I also made a banner with the color of autumn to be hung above our kitchen table.
We made a special autumn dinner, that included soup served in squash bowls:
And since then, autumn has come into our home in many ways. Through the play of my children
but also by our actions. We have been busy proofing the house for winter that we can feel is coming. I have been very busy cleaning, and reorganizing our little nest. Don't you just have days where you feel like throwing everything outside, and just starting back from scratch with the bare minimum. Yesterday was one of those days. I was in a decluttering mode big time. And it sure did feel good to just clean and prepare our home for our "hibernating time" coming along.
Enjoy autumn, and all the rich and deep color it brings with each passing day
